The Contemporary + Hip Hop lab is South Dakota Ballet’s NEW educational program! This program does not require an audition application.
Registration for this event will be live by February 1, 2026. This program, designed for dancers ages 10-22, will focus on hip hop & contemporary dance techniques along with a strong emphasis in creative process & choreographic techniques. At this stage in the planning process we are not planning to host a showcase for this program. We will update this information by March 15 should our vision change.

THIS PROGRAM MUST REACH A MINIMUM ENROLLMENT OF 30 PARTICIPANTS TO BE CARRIED OUT. PLEASE DO NOT REMIT PAYMENT UNTIL YOU RECEIVE NOTICE FROM SOUTH DAKOTA BALLET VIA EMAIL ON OR AROUND APRIL 15, 2026!
Tuition: $295 + tax
Schedule: Classes will take place daily from 10am-1pm
Classes: Hip Hop (Locking), Hip Hop (Commercial), Hip Hop (Old School), Contemporary Technique, Improvisation & Composition, Commercial Jazz, Commercial Contemporary, Intro to Breaking (Break dancing)
