*This highly-competitive program will only accept 12-18 artists annually. No exceptions. Applications will be assessed in the order in which they are received.
ABOUT
Train in a company-like atmosphere with South Dakota Ballet Artistic Director, Madeleine Scott & South Dakota Ballet Associate Director, Blake Krapels. The South Dakota Ballet pre-professional program is designed for dancers ages 19-24, who are currently enrolled in college dance programs or who are currently dancing in companies as trainees or apprentices looking to further their professional development including:
- Training in classical ballet technique
- Training in contemporary technique and repertoire
- Participation in creative processes with both Blake Krapels and Madeleine Scott
- Resume Development
- Audition Reel Filming & Editing Assistance
- Professional Guidance & References
Performances
Participants selected for the Pre-Professional program will perform on the following dates in Britza’s state-of-the-art black box theater. All performances will be professionally filmed & photographed to further enhance each dancer’s audition reel & portfolio at no extra charge. Performance times TBD:

Saturday, June 27 | Excerpts during Summer Intensive Showcases
TUITION
Early Bird Participation Fee DUE MARCH 15: $750 + Tax
Regular Participation Fee DUE MAY 15: $1,050 + Tax
